The SOGA-Kai Association of Japanese Painting
"Soga-Kai" is based on the group "Souzou Bijyutsu",which means "creative art" and founded in 1948 with the statement of "We are committed to creating a world class of Japanese painting".
Until today, we have advocated freedom, independence, and creativity of paintings and have developed to embody the new ages of japanese paintings.
In 1974, through the period of "Japanese Painting Section in Shinsesaku Art Society , we established Soga-Kai with 37 members from Souzou Bijutu,to achieve further purities and novel representations of japanese painting. Since its establishment, all the members of Soga-Kai, consisting of different generations,continue to respect the members'individuality each other, and devote their creativity to draw contemporary japanese painting.
This year,we would like to hold the 44th exhibition of Soga-Kai, filled with our enthusiasm and belief.
To celebrate the 70th anniversary of Souzou Bijutu, the exhibition present a series of artwork of foundermembers, the deceased member work, members, prize winners, and selected competitor in general.
It is our honor to have your paticipation.
